Exhibits
At the Atlanta Public Museum, we have three different types of Exhibits: Permanent, Revolving and
Special Event Collections. Each exhibit offers unique and historical learning opportunities about
Atlanta, Logan County, Central IL, the Midwest Region and the United States as a whole.

The Permanent Collections are items that are Atlanta specific, donated or on loan from our citizens.
These collections include: the Atlanta High School Collection, the Atlanta Fair Collection, the Armed Forces Memorial Hall Military Collection, the Masonic & Eastern Star Room and the Abraham Lincoln Collection.
The Atlanta Civic, Municipal, Religious, Cultural, and Local Businesses Collections are part of our
Revolving Exhibits. These artifacts are on display during seasonal or locally historical timeframes.
And our Special Event Collections are specific themed events that provide educational fun
and historical learning based on the theme for that exhibit. From interactive workshops,
guest lectures, and special one-of-a-kind events that the Public is encouraged to
participate in, people definitely enjoy seeing the entries on display, as well as
learning about the process, history and connection to our great nation.

Participation in any of our Special Event Contest are NOT limited to just Atlanta residents,
so if you're feeling crafty, or cooking is your jam, check out the NEW 2025 events under the
Quilt Show & Contest or the Route 66 Gingerbread Competition.
There's even an award for the Furthest Traveled.
